I just wanted to preface this post with a chat about the C word. I know the situation in the world right now is very scary and uncertain, and it might feel like posting about beauty products is too trivial right now. However, I want to try to continue as best I can for those that are looking for things to read whilst being stuck at home. I’m reading more blogs this week than I have in maybe five years, and I think a lot of you are doing the same. I really hope you are all keeping safe, and I really appreciate you reading my posts, especially at a time like this.
I have really grown to love Pixi as a brand over the last few years, with some of their makeup and skincare launches becoming my absolute favourites. The Pixi Rose Oil Blend Nourishing Face Oil is a product I got within a beautiful rose skin themed gift set from the brand, and I’m finally getting round to dedicating a whole post to it now I’ve been using it on off for almost a year.
Pixi Rose Oil Blend Nourishing Face Oil
“A luxe, ultra-nourishing oil that rejuvenates, restores and renews skin’s luminosity. This botanical blend is infused with a powerful complex of youth-preserving oils to help improve skin’s elasticity and glow. Sweet Almond, Rosehip, Jojoba, Pomegranate Seed, and Rose Granium oils nourish the complexion. Leaves skin comforted and smooth to the touch.”
The Pixi Rose Oil Blend Nourishing Face Oil is £26 for 30ml and is packaged within a pastel green glass bottle, with a pink label and pipette dispenser. It’s described as being suitable for all skin types, can be used both morning and night by massaging 2-3 drops onto cleansed, toned skin. For extra hydration, Pixi recommend adding a couple of drops to your moisturiser before applying to the skin.
The Pixi Rose Oil Blend Nourishing Face Oil is clear, and has a thin viscous formula. The reviews for the oil on both the Pixi UK and Pixi US websites are seriously glowing. It’s down to personal taste, but I don’t like the scent of rose in my skincare and this oil does have a rose scent I dislike. I know I’m in a very small minority that does dislike rose scents, but I do wish this oil was fragranced free as I feel like I would definitely enjoy it better.
If I ignore the scent, it’s a lovely thin oil that layers well under makeup without making my foundation look greasy and shiny. Some oils are so greasy that you end up shining away like a beacon, when you layer your foundation over the top. I can’t say I’ve noticed anything remarkable in terms of benefits since using this oil but it’s nicely hydrating on the skin. I personally prefer more intensive facial oils as my skin is so dry, but I can imagine this particular oil working well for normal to combination skin types as it is so lightweight.
