Collection Illuminating & Reviving Eyeshadow Primer

Collection Illuminating & Reviving Eyeshadow Primer

I recently finished my Essence Eyeshadow Primer, so I was on the hunt for a budget friendly replacement and I decided to try the Collection Illuminating & Reviving Eyeshadow Primer. I’ve never read any reviews on this primer, but it was on a half price offer, so I thought it would be worth a try but even at full price, £4.99 is a great price for an eyeshadow primer.

Collection Illuminating & Reviving Eyeshadow Primer

The Collection Illuminating & Reviving Eyeshadow Primer is unique to the majority of eyeshadow primers I’ve tried. It has a gel like formula, but it’s iridescent and shimmery which I didn’t expect. It feels quite sticky when you first apply it, but I think it’s the stickiness that helps eyeshadow adhere to your eyelids. I have found that it’s best applied with your fingertip, and then leave it for a minute or so to dry down then I like to apply a loose face powder with a fluffy brush over the top to try to set it a little.

If I apply eyeshadow over the top without setting it first, it can make matte eyeshadows a little too patchy for my liking. It works fine with shimmer shades without being set beforehand, but for mattes I definitely have to try to set it. I’m not convinced that the Collection Illuminating & Reviving Eyeshadow Primer does illuminate or revive. It performs just like any other eyeshadow primer, with no extra benefits compared to anything I’ve tried. For £4.99 it’s an OK primer, and it does help to prolong my eyeshadow but it doesn’t illuminate or revive like the claims, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase it once I’ve finished it.
