I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter

Revolution launched their Heartbreakers collection back in January with a range of miniature eyeshadow palettes, concealers and highlighters. When the collection launched, I bought a couple of the palettes, one of the concealers and one of the highlighter and I reviewed the Heartbreakers Concealer in February. I didn’t love the concealer in all honesty. The coverage was so minimal it felt a little pointless and the packaging was super messy, but the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter is definitely a winner – I love it!

I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter

I am a big, big fan of the I Heart Revolution Goddess of Love Baked Highlighters, and I’ve raved about them on my blog many times over the last five years. It’s always confused me why they haven’t introduced more shades in that exact formula as it was so, so good.

They did introduce Glow Hearts to the range, but they really were awful. They had the same cute, heart shaped boxes for the packaging, but they are extremely gritty and glittery. Although interestingly, it appears that they have actually been discontinued, and they only launched last year, so I can’t have been the only one that thought the formula was awful.

The Goddess of Love Highlighters have the most amazingly silky formula, with no glitter or sparkle, and they’re one of the best drugstore highlighter formulas. I don’t know why they don’t just use the same formula as the originals, but when I saw the stock image photos for the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter collection, they looked a lot more promising. The highlighters used to be £5, but they are now £6 each and you get 10g of highlighter.

I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter Review and Swatches

I chose the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter in the shade Unique as it was the palest from the trio. The highlighter has a heart shape like the rest of their heart blushers and highlighters, except to match the Heartbreakers theme, they have a split pan design with two different shades.

I love the packaging so much, and love the heartbreak idea with the two shades. Just look how beautiful these swatches are? No glitter. No sparkle. No grittiness. It’s just the most perfect silky shimmer that looks so flattering on the skin. One shade is a pale pink toned champagne, and the other is an icy white shimmer.

The white shimmer side really reminds me of Becca Pearl, and I think if you did a test applying Becca Pearl to one side of your face, and then this shade on the other, it’d be hard to tell them apart. Revolution seriously need to make more highlighters in this exact formula as it’s amazing and is perfect for those with pale skin.
