I purchased the Revolution Fast Brow Pomade Pen on a bit of a whim back in March, when Superdrug had their 3 for 2 offer on as my third item as I couldn’t decide what to get. Revolution have launched quite a few brow products this year, and I’ve not seen any reviews or anyone talk about the Revolution Fast Brow Pomade Pen, so I had no idea what it was or if it was any good – but it’s fast become my favourite product for doing my brows.
Revolution Fast Brow Pomade Pen
“Create the look of microbladed brows in a flash with our Fast Brow Pomade. The clickable teardrop applicator spreads pomade smoothly through the brow hairs in one quick motion. The unique flexible comb tip creates multiple individual hairs in a single swipe for fast, fluffy looking brows.“
The Revolution Fast Brow Pomade Pen is £6 and is available in just five shades; Bronde, Ash Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, and Granite. The shade range isn’t the biggest for a brow product, and there’s nothing for those with blonde, red or grey hair. I chose the shade Ash Brown as I have very dark cool toned brown brows.
The Revolution Fast Brow Pomade Pen is a rose gold coloured plastic pen, with a strange looking teardrop shaped applicator. On the applicator there’s a hole in the centre, which is where the product dispenses from.
Then surrounding the hole in the centre, there’s lots of firm plastic bristles. The applicator reminds me of one of those shoe polish instant brush applicators, I know that’s a super random comparison but it does.
The first time you use the Revolution Fast Brow Pomade Pen, you have to click the base around 20 times. I honestly thought my pen was broken as it took so many clicks to get going. Eventually, the pomade begins to push through the hole in the centre of the applicator. You then brush the applicator through the brows.
The little firm plastic bristles give an amazingly natural hair like stroke effect, which I hope you can see in my swatches. It gives almost a microbladed effect within the brows. It’s insanely quick and easy to use, and I love the finished look as it doesn’t look like you’ve applied product to your brows. Instead, it looks like you naturally have full, defined brows – if only.
I really love this pomade pen, but there is one downside I have to mention. As it’s a clickable pen, you can’t control how much pomade is dispensed, and almost every time I use the pen, I have to wipe off extra product as far too much product pushes through the applicator (as shown in my third photo).
It’s such a shame as I’m wasting a lot of product every time I use it. Even with this slight drawback with the design, I would absolutely repurchase the pen as I love how natural it looks in the brows. The plastic bristles do a great job at evenly distributing the pomade, lasts well in the brows during the day, and Ash Brown is the perfect shade match for my brows too.
