TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray

When it comes to haircare, I find hairspray to be a really un-exciting product to have to buy and use but it’s still a product I couldn’t live without. I have tried so many different hairsprays over the years from super budget brands all the way through to crazy pricey hair sprays but the best I’ve ever used is the TIGI Bedhead Masterpiece Hairspray. I first discovered the TIGI Masterpiece Hairspray after getting my hair done for my 21st birthday and I needed my style to last all night.

The stylist used the TIGI hairspray and I couldn’t believe my style lasted through the night, and until the next morning. Since then I’ve repurchased it everytime I’m near the end of the bottle, but I still like trying other hairsprays just incase I’m missing out from something better – if it even exists. I bought the TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray to try as I’ve heard really great things, and for £4.99 for 400ml it’s great value too.

TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray

TRESemme have a number of different hairsprays, all with different variations of hold. TRESemme rank their hairsprays out of five to show how much hold they offer, and the TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray offers five out of five hold. There are five different hairsprays in total; TRESemme Flexible Hold Hairspray, TRESemme Firm Hold Hairspray, TRESemme Extra Hold Hairspray, TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray and TRESemme Ultra Shine Hold Hairspray

TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray Review

TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray

I am not a fan of the scent of the TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray. It has a stale old fashioned hair spray scent which isn’t as bad as Elnette, but it has an old style hair lacquer scent which I can smell the whole time I have the spray in my hair. I know scent is a personal choice but I don’t like to use nice smelling shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and hair oil for it to be masked with an unpleasant hairspray scent.

One of the reasons I love the TIGI Masterpiece Hairspray is how amazing it smells. It has a Skittles scent and smells so good, but not only does it smell good but it offers insane hold. I can spray a top knot style with Masterpiece in the morning and leave my hair up in the top knot all day and before going to be, and the next morning my hair looks almost identical apart from the odd loose piece of hair. It’s the best hold I’ve ever seen in an hairspray and it gives my hair mirror like shine.

The TRESemme Freeze Hold Hairspray does brush out of the hair better than TIGI Masterpiece, but brushing hairspray out of my hair isn’t something I need. I don’t find that the Freeze Hold Hairspray makes my hair shiny, and I have to use a lot more product when using the TRESemme hairspray than I do with TIGI.

Yes it’s only £4.99 but I only need two to three short presses of TIGI’s hairspray, and with the TRESemme hairspray I need at least six or seven to get the kind of hold I want for taming my pesky baby hairs. I wouldn’t repurchase any of the TIGI hairsprays but I’m glad I tried it, and will continue to use and rave about TIGI Masterpiece.

You can purchase the TRESemme hairsprays from Superdrug.
