If I was ever lucky enough to win any money, one of the first things I’d do is transform my smile. I’m really self conscious about my teeth, and would love to be able to afford high quality veneers, however considering they can cost upto £1200 per tooth, they’ve very pricey. However, I absolutely love how they can transform your smile. Whilst veneers aren’t a possibility for many, I wanted to share some more affordable ways to improve your smile.

One big thing you can do to improve your smile, is whitening. By whitening your teeth, it’ll give you a brighter smile and give you a real confidence boost. There are multiple whitening products on the market to suit all budgets, and most dental practices offer whitening treatments should your budget allow it. 

There are whitening strips which typically contain a thin layer of hydrogen peroxide or another active ingredient, adhered to a pliable plastic strip which you place across your teeth to bleach off surface stains.

Whitening strips can make your teeth more sensitive, so it might be worth speaking to your dentist first to see what their recommendations are. If you don’t have a dentist, it’ll be a good idea to register for a dentist near you, offering affordable dental in three locations so if you ever have a dental emergency, you’ll be able to book an urgent appointment. 

If whitening strips aren’t something you want to try, or you already have sensitive teeth, there are some really great whitening toothpastes, and some are specifically designed for those with dental sensitives. It’s also a budget friendly option, and I really rate the White Glo range for their whitening benefits.

My next tip is a makeup tip, and it’s all about the colour of your lipstick. Did you know that your lip colour can make your teeth look whiter? If you choose a blue toned lip colour, it will make your teeth appear whiter but on the flip side, a yellow toned lip colour can emphasis any discolouration of the teeth so it can make a big difference. A blue toned red lip colour like the one shown above, will make your teeth look much whiter than they actually are. 

If you’d like to improve the shape of your teeth, as more ways to improve your smile, you could consider dental veneers which again is quite pricey, but some brands offer clip on veneers. Clip on veneers will improve the shape of your teeth, but also the colour, and they’re easy to put in and take out, whilst looking natural.
