I Heart Revolution launched their Heartbreakers collection at the beginning of the year, which included mini eyeshadow palettes, heart shaped highlighters, concealers and heart shaped blushes. I’ve already featured the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Concealer, and the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter, and today I have the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Matte Blush to show you.
I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Matte Blush
There are eight different shades of the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Blushers, six of which are matte and two of them are shimmery blush shades. They’re £6 each, and the shades are;
- Creative – matte
- Brave – matte
- Charming – matte
- Inspiring – matte
- Independent – matte
- Kind – matte
- Powerful – shimmer
- Strong – shimmer
I am a really big fan of the I Heart Revolution Goddess of Love Highlighters, but I much prefer a matte blush, so I decided to buy one of the matte shades in the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Matte Blush collection.
The two shimmer blush shades (Powerful & Strong) are both pretty deep, so they’d be better suited for those with deeper skintones than mine. Whereas the matte shades cater for fair, medium and deeper skintones too.
I chose the palest shade of the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Matte Blush range, which is Brave. I Heart Revolution describe Brave as being “two peachy-keen shades for olive skin tones, matte finish” but it feels like those descriptions are for a completely different blusher.
Brave includes a very, very pale pink and a medium pink shade. The palest side of the heart is extremely pale, and barely shows up on the skin. I had to apply four layers of each shade just for these swatches, and you still can’t really see them.
I have the palest of skin, and blush being too pale is something I’ve never experienced before but the lighter shade in the blush duo isn’t going to work for olive skin tones, or anyone with skin a tiny bit deeper than mind.
Although the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Matte Blush in Brave is very pale, I think both shades look super pretty but you do have to build it up quite a bit for it to be seen.
I do prefer a more minimal blush shade, so Brave lacking in pigment isn’t a negative for me, but it’s just something to consider should your skin be any deeper than mine, as it just won’t show up.
