I’ve got a bit of an obsession when it comes to body wash. I have a set of drawers in my bathroom, and there’s two dedicated to body washes as I just love trying new ones. I never like to use the same one every time I shower, so I mix them up and I’m always up for trying new ones I spot in Superdrug or Boots. The Imperial Leather Foamburst Body Washes certainly aren’t a new product, but they’ve introduced a new range to the Foamburst collection; the Imperial Leather Foamburst Ultimate Moisture Whipped Cream Body Wash.
I’m a big fan of foaming shower gels, and I always liked the Imperial Leather Foamburst shower gels but I didn’t love them. The foam was always very light, and as soon as you tried to massage it into the skin, the bubbles would burst and it wouldn’t go very far.
If you’ve never tried a foaming shower gel, they usually dispense as a gel and when you begin to massage the gel into the skin, the skin turns into a foam. The new Imperial Leather Foamburst Ultimate Moisture Whipped Cream Body Wash £4.99 collection really appealed to me as they’re described as being ‘whipped cream body washes’.
Imperial Leather Foamburst Ultimate Moisture Whipped Cream Body Wash Review
There are just three different scents in the Ultimate Moisture range; Golden Amber & Coconut Oil, Rose & Argan Oil and White Orchid & Pistachio Oil. I chose the Golden Amber & Coconut Oil version as I love anything coconut or amber scented, so I figured the combination of the two would be lovely. The packaging is very similar to the original formula, with plastic can, with a press dispenser.
The body wash dispenses a thick cream, almost like a body lotion and it stays in a thick, whipped lotion consistency as you work it over the skin. After around five seconds, the cream begins to lightly foam up into thick, luxurious bubbles and it’s easy to rinse away.
It claims to offer three days worth of moisture in one use but I don’t agree with that at all. It’s softening on the skin, but it doesn’t impart lasting moisture like I thought it would. I really like the thick cream it creates, as it’s so perfect for shaving but I wish it was more hydrating on the skin like it claims.
If anything, I actually find it to be a little stripping on the skin as my skin feels tight and uncomfortable post-shower and that’s the opposite effect. I really love the whipped cream format, but the original Foamburst range are more hydrating so whilst it’s not a product I’d repurchase, for £4.99 it’s still a nice body wash.
