L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask Review

When I saw that L’Oreal had launched a new ‘power’ mask within their Elvive Full Resist collection, it was an instant purchase. The L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask is a little different to your average drugstore hair mask, and it’s definitely the priciest hair mask you’d find in the likes of supermarkets and chemists.

I only featured a L’Oreal Elvive haircare product the other day, but I’m on a major catch up mission with posts I need to get around to publishing so I’m sorry to have another so soon. The L’Oreal Elvive range is one of my favourite drugstore haircare ranges (alongside Aussie and Herbal Essences) and whilst I can definitely appreciate a fancier hair mask, I just love the formulas of the Elvive collection.

So what makes the L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask different? Two things actually. One is the size, this is a beast of a tub with 680ml which is pretty huge. I struggled to hold it just so I could photograph it, but it will last for a really long time, even with my waist length hair.

As the L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask tub is so huge, you’re going to need small wrists to scoop the product out once you get half way down the tub, or alternatively use some sort of spatula to scoop it out. The second thing that makes this L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask unique is the price. It’s £13 – yes, really.

“Get your full hair workout. With the Power Mask there is no need to worry about excessive hair breakage and fall again. The mutli-use hair strengthening mask has a lightweight and silicone free formula for a natural touch. Get your full hair workout with our Full Resist regime.

Our reinforcing formula charged with supplements [Biotin + Vitamin B5 + Arginine] works in affinity with the hair fibre from root to tip. Ideal for weak and fragile hair types which have a tendency to break and fall. Brush Resist Cream helps to protect while also strengthening your hair. The results: Up to 98.8% less breakage* when brushing.

Scalp feels healthier, hair breaks less* and feels more reinforced**. Suitable for men and women. The Full Resist Regime Pollution, seasonal change, daily brushing and styling… Your hair feels weaker, thinner and tends to break and fall more easily. Our Full Resist regime helps your scalp feel healthier and hair feel 2x stronger and more resistant. The proof? Half as much hair on your brush every morning.” – L’Oreal

L'Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask

I personally would never spend £13 on a drugstore hair mask, even if the jar is an absolute beast. L’Oreal Elvive products are permanently on offer somewhere. I bought my L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask on a half price offer from Boots, where it was only £6.50 which is a really great deal, especially as you’re getting over half a litre of mask.

If you love the scent of the L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist collection like I do, you’ll love the scent of the L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask. It smells amazing, and you can smell it in your hair for hours after washing your hair which I always love. It has pretty bold claims, but I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference in my crazy hair loss.

My hair loss is hormonal though, so it’s perfectly viable that’s why it hasn’t benefited my hair, but if you don’t have an actual cause for your hair loss, you might notice an improvement when using this mask. I love the L’Oreal Elvive Full Resist Power Mask as it makes my hair feel like silk, and helps to keep my hair from getting tangled once dry. Whilst I can’t say it’s the best mask I’ve ever used, it’s one of my recent favourites and something I would repurchase when half price in the future.
