NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation Review Swatches

The NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation is a foundation I’ve heard so much about, but until recently I’d never tried. I’m all about the more glowy foundations, and there’s a really impressive shade range for this foundation, so I decided to give it a try and blind buy a shade online.

The NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation is £10 and contains 30ml of product within a black squeezy plastic tube. I might sound like a snob but this foundation looks so cheap, and for £10 you’d expect slightly nicer packaging.

But that’s just my opinion, but I just don’t love the packaging. It is probably a lot more practical than your typical glass foundation bottles, but the writing on the tube wore away within a couple of weeks of use too.

This foundation is described as being a buildable coverage foundation with a naturally radiant finish that lasts. It’s said to blend like a dream and even works with your skin to help create a smooth, even-toned look.

There are 45 shades available in the NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation which is an amazing shade range for a drugstore makeup brand. It definitely puts other drugstore brands to shame like Rimmel and Essence.

I chose the NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation in the shade Light Porcelain which NYX describe as being fair with cool undertones, but it’s really quite deep for a fair foundation.

There is only one shade that’s lighter than this which is called Pale, and that’s supposed to be white ivory with warm undertones, but as I’m very pale with a strong cool undertone, I figured Light Porcelain would be the better choice – unfortunately it wasn’t.

I also struggle with the NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation oxidising on me too, which I can’t afford to happen when it’s too dark to start with, so I have to blend it with a decent amount of White Foundation Mixer to create a shade that works for me.

Sadly I don’t like this foundation at all. Ignoring the oxidisation and lacking in fair shades, this foundation makes me look like a grease ball. Now I have super dry skin, so radiant glowy foundations are my kinda thing, but the NYX Born To Glow Naturally Radiant Foundation makes me look unwashed greasy rather than beautifully radiant glowy.

I really like the coverage, and it is quick and easy to apply but I’m definitely the minority as so many people name this foundation as being their favourite. I have tried so hard to like it, but it’s got a lot of oils within the formula which (like you can see in the swatch) it’s so, so shiny and not a foundation I enjoy wearing.
