Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer

Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer

I love, love love the Revolution Pro Prime and Hydrate Primer, and it’s one of my favourite drugstore primers so when they launched the Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer, I had to order it to see how it compared. The Prime and Hydrate Primer is an amazing dupe for the Too Faced Hangover Primer, with the same coconut scent, consistency and results but it’s considerably more affordable. I was interested to see how this primer would differ?

Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer

The Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer smells and looks like a bottle of PVA glue. It smells awful, and it’s even sticky like glue too, making it really unpleasant to use. I love the packaging as it’s so sleek and luxe for a £10 primer, but the smell is something I can’t overlook as it’s so strong.

In terms of results, it’s slightly hydrating but all it really does is mattify the skin. It doesn’t blur the skin, it doesn’t plump the skin, nor does it make my makeup last any longer either. It’s harsh but it just feels a little pointless as it doesn’t offer any benefits, whereas the Prime and Hydrate Primer in the Pro range is truly amazing, so I’d skip this entirely, and go for the Pro Prime and Hydrate instead.
