Being Kind To Yourself During Lockdown

There’s no doubt that lockdown hasn’t been terrible, and as hard as it is – it’s important for everyone to take care of themselves. Spending a lot of time alone or even with a couple of people in your house can give you a lot of time to think, and a lot of time to put yourself down too. From worrying about your quarantine eating habits to feeling like you should be doing more with your time, it’s easy to get yourself worked up – something that will take its toll on your mental health.

So how can you be kinder to yourself during lockdown? Here are some suggestions to help you get started.

Being Kind To Yourself During Lockdown

Accept that it’s ok to indulge now and then

Food has been on many people’s minds during lockdown. From making the most of home deliveries to snacking while on a Netflix binge, there’s no denying that food hasn’t been one way of relieving the boredom.

But that doesn’t mean you need to punish yourself for it. It’s ok to treat yourself now and then, but everything in moderation as they say. Make sure you enjoy some daily exercise and make the most of being able to rustle up healthy, home-cooked dishes in the kitchen to help you enjoy a nice balance.

Try new things

‘I don’t have the time for…’, is something many people say, but now you’ve got a lot of time on your hands, you can make some time to try some of the things that are on your list that you’re unsure of. Want to give crochet a try or learn a new language? It’s all possible now!

For a fun experience unlike anything you’ve done before, why not try an online psychic reading? Who knows what could be revealed about your future? It’s time to think outside the box and explore new things!

Take it one step at a time

Some days, you’ll be super productive, and others you might sleep in or not leave the sofa – that’s all ok! It’s much better to take things one day at a time than try to do everything and be constantly busy. A wellbeing planner can help you write down some of your goals and work towards them gradually. You could make a list of things you want to achieve in lockdown and if you get through it, great, and if not – the world isn’t going to end!

Treat yourself

If you can’t treat yourself now, when can you? With all of the money you’re saving on eating out and nights out, you can afford to treat yourself now and then. Why not plan a pamper evening with some new products to help you feel relaxed? A luxury hair mask, DIY facial and an at-home mani/pedi could be just what you need to pick yourself up right now.

Whether you’re in lockdown alone or with others, it’s never been more important to show kindness – especially to yourself. You’ve got this!!
