Childs Farm are a skincare brand designed for children, but their products are definitely not just for kids. I have always had really sensitive skin, but it’s become particularly sensitive over the last 18 months. I’ve never suffered from eczema until early this year, where I had a stubborn patch of eczema on the back of my leg. I tried all the over-the-counter eczema treatments and nothing helped at all until I tried Childs Farm.
I read a story about the Childs Farm Moisturiser being a miracle cure for eczema, so I decided to give it a try, especially as it was only £4.49. I really didn’t expect very much as I assumed a moisturiser that is mild enough for newborn babies, would never be effective where strong steroid creams didn’t work. When you have little children to worry about, you need to ensure the sun protection is high quality for any day trips to the beach, or just out and about during the summer.
However, after just a week of daily use, the eczema cleared up and it never came back. I still can’t believe it, but I’ve been intrigued to try more from the Childs Farm brand ever since.
Childs Farm Sun Care Collection
There’s no denying, the brand is marketed for children with formulas that can be used on super sensitive skin, however their products aren’t just for children. If you have sensitive, reactive skin like mine, their products really are worth a try and I’ve been testing the Childs Farm Sun Care Collection as part of my sun care series.
The Childs Farm Sun Care Collection consists of six different products, and they offer a Childs Farm Sun Care Collection bundle with a cute travel bag for £49.99. The bundle contains four sun protection products, and one after sun in cute travel sized bottles and tubes.
Childs Farm SPF30 Sun Cream 125ml & 50ml
The first two products included within the Childs Farm Suncare Travel Bag are actually the same product, but in two sizes. It’s their SPF30 Sun Cream which is available in a miniature handbag-friendly 50ml size, but also a 125ml full size too.
It’s a typical sun cream type product, but is 100% unfragranced which is perfect for sensitive skin as fragrances can cause irritation to the skin. I really like how lightweight and milky the cream is, and it’s really nicely nourishing and hydrating for the face, without feeling greasy or leaving my skin looking super shiny.
It’s one of their newer formulations, offering high protection, is water resistant and protects both young and sensitive skin from UVA and UVB rays. It is also dermatologist and paediatrician approved as being suitable for sensitive skin and safe for people who may be prone to eczema. Plus it’s registered with The Vegan Society too.
Childs Farm SPF30 Roll-On Sun Lotion
Next up is a roll-on format of a sun lotion with SPF30. Childs Farm do also offer an SPF50+ in the rollerball format, and is a great water resistant formula to protect young and sensitive skin from UVA and UVB rays, whilst keeping the skin moisturised and hydrated.
Roll-on sun lotions are quick and easy to apply, as you just roll onto the skin then rub the lotion into the skin. I think roll-on sun creams are ideal for your handbag as they’re just a nice, fuss free way to apply sun protection.
Childs Farm SPF30 Sun Spray
If you prefer a spray sun cream/lotion, this Childs Farm SPF30 Sun Spray is such a nice option. It’s an unfragranced lotion within a spray bottle, which pumps a lovely fine mist of lotion over the skin. It’s always hard to show ‘swatches’ when talking about skincare, but look how amazing and glowy the spray leaves the skin.
If you like your skin to look glowy and have a pretty sheen, this spray lotion is really great for that whilst also protecting the skin against both UVA and UVB rays. Again, it’s water resistant and unfragranced, and my favourite product from the Childs Farm Sun Care Collection.
Childs Farm After Sun Lotion 100ml
The last product within the Childs Farm Sun Care Collection is their one after sun product within the range. It has a gel-lotion formula which feels amazingly cooling on the skin, especially after being in the sun.
It contains organic coconut and has a very, very subtle natural coconut scent which is hardly noticeable but I love the scent. I do kinda wish it had a stronger scent, but I know fragrance sensitivities are very common, so it’d make sense that Childs Farm wouldn’t add any artificial fragrances.
I’ve loved using this after sun lotion on my face, and if you keep it in the fridge, it’s even more soothing and ideal for replenishing any lost moisture after being out in the sun all day, or just as an everyday soothing, nourishing lotion.
