I raved about the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream here on my blog back in May, and I bought the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser at the same time I bought the Smoothing Cream. The CeraVe SA Smoothing collection launched in the US way before it did in the UK, and I’d been impatiently waiting for it to launch as the reviews were so positive.
CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser
“CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser for the face and body. This cleanser helps to alleviate rough and bumpy skin texture, leaving skin feeling smoother. The Salicylic Acid in the formula gently exfoliates the skin, without compromising the skin’s natural barrier. Developed with dermatologists, this daily foaming cleanser helps protect the skin’s natural barrier with three essential ceramides and hydrates the skin with Hyaluronic Acid.“
The CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is £12 and contains 236ml in a pump bottle and it can be used both on the face and the body. I have to admit, I never have the confidence in a product which can supposedly be use on both the face and the body, as the skin is so very different, needing different benefits.
I bought both the CeraVe cleanser and the lotion as I have keratosis pilaris on my arms, and the lotion works amazingly well but I wanted to use both products individually to see if they performed well when used alone, or if you had to use them together as they’re not the cheapest of products for a product you’d use daily.
It is a foaming cleanser, and I do find it to be too drying for my face unfortunately. I did purchase both the lotion and cleanser with a view for using them on the body, so I’m not disappointed. The cream works amazingly both on the face and the body, but for me the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser leaves my face feeling so tight and uncomfortable.
I think the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser does a nice job on the body, and I concentrate it on my problem areas and when just using this cleanser alone, my skin does feel smoother and a little less textured.
I think the cream is a lot more impressive out of the two, and I’d repurchase the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream but not this CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser as it’s not as impressive. It’s definitely not a bad product, but the Smoothing Cream is much more effective in comparison. However, as a whole, I’m so impressed with CeraVe skincare.
