Earlier this year, Collection revamped their Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation and Lasting Perfection Concealer, and as well as improving the packaging, they’ve introduced more shades too. The concealer and foundation have had the same packaging for years and years, so a makeover was so, so overdue.
Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation
The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer has been my favourite drugstore concealer for at least fourteen years now back when the brand was called Collection 2000. It’s a concealer I always have within my collection, and whilst I’m always trying new concealers of all different prices, it’s still a product I love and use often.
The Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation is £6.49 and contains 27ml of product. Most brands give 30ml of product for a foundation, so it’s strange that Collection would reduce the volume of product for the new version. The packaging is so sleek and luxe for an affordable foundation, with a weighty frosted glass bottle and a white pump dispenser. It definitely doesn’t look like a foundation that’s priced under £7, and the pump allows you to dispense exactly how much you want reducing any unnecessary wastage.
“NEW Lasting Perfection Foundation now available in new shades, offering up to 16 hours of wear and improved SPF30 protection.
For early mornings or late nights, it will last with you. The 6-in-1 formula primes, conceals, covers, smooths, protects and mattifies.
The medium to full coverage foundation seamlessly blends for a flawless complexion and is now specially formulated to perfectly match all shades of Lasting Perfection Concealer, making it easier than ever before to shop your base.“
The Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation is now available in twenty shades which is more than ten new shades. They have changed all of their shade names and numbers, so if you’ve been using a specific number previously, you can check right here to see what your ‘new’ shade will be.
I was never able to try the original version of this foundation as the palest shade was Ivory and that was practically like fake tan for my skintone. I opted for the newest palest shade; Rose Porcelain 1 and wow it’s a good match. I purchased the new foundation and concealer in the same shade, and as there aren’t any swatches online yet, it was a bit of a gamble, but Rose Porcelain is my perfect match.
So much so, I can use it straight from the bottle without needing to add lightening drops which is a makeup miracle for my skintone. This is a very high coverage foundation, and it covers almost anything. If I had to compare the formula to another foundation it’d have to be the Esteé Lauder Double Wear Foundation. Not only is the coverage and formula similar, but the longevity is too.
It stays put amazingly well without transferring or breaking up. As it is a matte foundation, it does cling to dry patches and look a little heavy on my skin, but as long as I use nourishing facial oils prior to application, I can still make it work. If you love a high coverage, long lasting but budget foundation, I cannot recommend trying the new Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation.
