Gosh Donoderm Prime n Set Spray

You never really hear anyone talking about Gosh any more, and I don’t know why. I hadn’t tried any of their newer products in a while, so I decided to order the Gosh Donoderm Prime n Set Spray (and the GOSH High Coverage Concealer – reviewed here) when Superdrug were having their buy one, get one free deal across all cosmetics. I had no idea if it was any good and I couldn’t find any reviews online.

I don’t even know when the Gosh Donoderm Prime n Set Spray launched. It just appeared on the Superdrug website. I’m not entirely sure what the Donoderm means? It would appear it’s a skincare range by Gosh on their Copenhagen based website, but the rest of the products aren’t available from Superdrug.

The Gosh Donoderm Prime n Set Spray is £6.99 which I didn’t think was too bad for a setting spray, but when it arrived I was surprised it only contained 50ml which is so small for a setting spray. Revolution give you 100ml with their setting sprays, and this particular setting spray is supposed to be used both as a primer spray and a setting spray so it wouldn’t last for very long at all.

GOSH DONODERM PRIME´N SET SPRAY is a lightweight setting spray that keeps makeup fresh, makes it last longer and protects skin against pollution. With its active anti-pollution ingredients, it fights free radical damage that can lead to visible aging. Skin looks smoother, and more even-toned with a radiant finish.” – GOSH

So the Gosh Donoderm Prime n Set Spray is marketed as being a primer and setting spray in one. However I don’t find it does either. It has a strong perfume scent and it makes my skin feel sticky. I thought I was imagining it the first time and thought I perhaps applied too much primer, but it makes my skin sticky.

Looking at the ingredients list, it contains sucrose which is supposedly helpful in attracting and retaining moisture. It doesn’t improve the wear time of my makeup, nor does it prime my skin so it feels like a really pointless step within my routine. I’m glad I got it on offer as I would’ve been disappointed, but sadly the spray is a fail, unfortunately.
