This summer is going to look a lot different to any other summer we’ve experienced, and many of us are having to adopt a staycation vibe this summer by staying home instead of jetting off to sunnier climes. I wanted to share some ideas on making the most of your home this summer, so keep on reading to find out more..
Making The Most Of Your Home This Summer
Now the temperatures are rising, it’s the perfect time to head to the garden especially if anything like me, you’ve been getting a little cabin fever from being stuck at home for so long. Your garden is essentially an extra room for your home, so it’s a good idea to make the most of your garden, and make it your own little sanctuary that you can escape to.
If you haven’t got decent garden furniture already, luxury rattan furniture is a great choice, and it’s all over Pinterest right now as it’s so popular. Not only does rattan furniture look good, but it weathers well and it’s generally very low maintenance.
If you want to make the most of your garden this summer, but you’re not green fingered, pots and planters are a good option, especially if you are short on space. You don’t have to worry about weeding, and you can move them around your garden easily too.
You can purchase ready-made planters or make up your own depending on what you’re looking for, and you don’t have to spend a fortune but some colourful planters will make such a lovely impact on your outdoor space.
If you struggle with the heat like myself, investing in an air cooler has been revolutionary. I didn’t want to buy an air conditioning unit as they’re so bulky and noisy, as well as needing to have a ventilation tube in order to use it.
Instead, I opted for an air cooler which I can fill with water, and ice-blocks for super cool air and it’s amazing. It lowers the temperature of the room quickly, and makes being stuck indoors on a hot day a lot more tolerable.
Another tip on making the most of your home this summer, is investing in a decent picnic set. I know many of us would prefer to have picnics on some nice day trips, but it’s just not going to feasible this summer. That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some summery picnics in our garden.
There are some really lovely picnic sets that come with a hamper, complete with all the accessories you’d need. Then you can add some delicious yummy treats in your next online food shop, to enjoy in the comfort of your garden whilst listening to a summery themed Spotify playlist.
It’s a shame we won’t have the freedom we’re used to this summer, but there’s still ways in which we can enjoy the summer.
