Today I have another of my AliExpress beauty finds to show you, and this time it’s the UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I started 2020 off with an AliExpress series where I shared a different product with you once a week every week, but due to the global crisis, I had to pause my series as it didn’t feel appropriate.
So I am going to share products from time to time, as I have discovered some real gems, and on the flipside, some disappointments too. If you’d like to read my thoughts on the UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, keep on reading.
UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
I last shared an UCANBE product back in January, with their amazing liquid eyeliner. UCANBE are a well known beauty brand on AliExpress, but they’re a registered beauty brand that doesn’t create fake or counterfeit items. Although, the UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer is very obviously ‘inspired’ by the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.
The UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer is £2.22 with free UK shipping which is crazy affordable, even more so than MUA or Revolution in the drugstore. This concealer is available in the following shades;
- 01 Porcelain
- 02 Ivory
- 03 Cool Sand
- 04 Warm Honey
The tube is very similar visually to the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, with a gold metallic lid featuring a purple printed design, although the doefoot applicators are different. Tarte has a massive doefoot, whereas the UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer has a much smaller, narrower doefoot applicator in comparison.
I bought the palest shade 01 Porcelain, as it looked like the palest shade but now I think for some reason shade 02 might actually be lighter than 01 Porcelain which doesn’t make a lot of sense. There aren’t many swatches online, so I hope my swatches will be a little helpful when choosing a shade.
Unfortunately 01 Porcelain translates much darker on the skin than it looks in the tube, and it’s got a strong warm undertone too. I can counteract the warm tone and darker shade by using Lightening Drops, but this shade would be better for lighter skintones rather than fair.
In terms of formula, the UCANBE Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer is actually lacking in coverage. It’s a light coverage concealer, with a lightweight formula that works nicely on my dry skin.
It’s not cakey, drying or heavy, and if it had a lighter shade that I didn’t have to mix with lightening drops, it’d probably be a concealer I’d use more frequently, especially on my ‘no makeup’ makeup days.
