It feels as if L’Oreal are forever launching new lipsticks, and the L’Oreal Color Riche Ultra Matte Lipstick collection is their newest lipstick collection. Before the L’Oreal Color Riche Ultra Matte Lipstick collection, L’Oreal launched their Color Rich Shine Lipsticks and I love them so much. They’re so balmy and glossy on the lips, and I definitely prefer glossy finish lipsticks to matte, but I was still intrigued to see what the new formula was like.

I have to be honest, I hate the scent of L’Oreal Lipsticks. They have a really strong perfumed scent and it’s the same scent they’ve always had, and it feels so 90s. Most brands opt for vanilla or sweet scents for their lip products, but I just don’t want to apply something to my lips that smells like a perfume.
I chose the shade No Cliché but I ordered mine online via Superdrug, and there weren’t any swatches so it was somewhat of a blind buy. As the whole collection is nothing but nudes, I figured choosing one of the palest shades would be best and No Cliché is a really dark almost terracotta shade in the bullet, but it applies so much lighter on the lips.
It’s definitely more of a brown toned beige, and is more warm toned than I typically like but it’s different to most of the lipsticks in my collection. With a name like Ultra Matte, I was worried the formula would be uncomfortable but it has a really comfortable finish for a matte lipstick.
It doesn’t leave my lips feeling depleted of moisture. I love the nude coloured packaging for this collection too, I think it suits the nude theme for the collection, and I’ve already purchased two more L’Oreal Color Riche Ultra Matte Lipstick shades as I like No Cliché so much.
