B By Superdrug Pro Makeup Setting Spray Review

I bought the B By Superdrug Pro Makeup Setting Spray at the beginning of last year, and I’m only just writing about it because it took me ages to decide how I felt about it. B. is the Superdrug own beauty brand, or at least one of them, and the brand is just so underwhelming. I think Superdrug wanted the brand to be as popular as No7, but the quality is a little inconsistent for the makeup products, but the skincare is much better in my opinion.

I looked online for some reviews of the B By Superdrug Pro Makeup Setting Spray, to see what other people felt about it, but I couldn’t find one single review which is so strange for a beauty product that launched a couple of years ago?

B. Makeup Setting Spray is that “last but definitely not least” element of your makeup regime, helping give your look staying power and minimising shine.

The fine texture of this setting spray helps to empower your look and to give it a just-applied look and feel all day or night. The mist feels almost weightless and prevents shine. Whatever the day throws at you, your makeup will look as fresh as when you applied it.

The B By Superdrug Pro Makeup Setting Spray is £6.99 which I thought was quite reasonable, as the B. brand’s products aren’t the cheapest for a drugstore brand. It has really sleek packaging, with a matte black plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The bottle has an almost rubberised texture, similar to the NARS packaging, and it does look very sleek for a budget brand.

Whilst the packaging might look good, it’s not very effective as the pump gets stuck, so I ended up swapping the pump with another setting spray and it works better. This setting spray is white, and it does cover the face in white spots which is a little annoying as I can’t just spray it over my makeup as a finishing step, as I always without fail have to then use a beauty sponge to blend the ‘spots’ otherwise it looks ridiculous.

I like the scent, as it’s quite fresh but I don’t find that it does anything for my makeup. It doesn’t make my makeup last longer, it doesn’t make my makeup look better, but it doesn’t make my makeup look bad either. The B By Superdrug Pro Makeup Setting Spray is £6.99 but it only contains 40ml of product which is a tiny amount of product for a setting spray. The Revolution Setting Sprays give you 100ml, for sometimes less than £6.99.

The B By Superdrug Pro Makeup Setting Spray just feels like a pointless product, as it’s not as if it adds hydration or glow either. It’s a strange one, as it’s neither good nor bad but for £6.99 you’d be better off with one of the Revolution Setting Sprays.
