Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eyeshadow Palette Review / Swatches

I recently tried my very first Pat McGrath product and it was somewhat of a fail. I bought the Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eyeshadow Palette and the Pat McGrath Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Set during their sale (which is still live on their website), and the lipsticks were awful. I don’t know if they’re old or just a dodgy batch, but they were furry and horrid, so I was hoping the Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eyeshadow Palette would be a better experience.

Pat McGrath is such a ultra hyped beauty brand, with very luxurious products and high prices. I hadn’t ever tried Pat McGrath products until recently as I don’t live anywhere near a stockist and I didn’t want to be disappointed with an online purchase.

I managed to purchase the Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eyeshadow Palette for just £11 which is amazing, and it’s still available on their website right now. This palette was £22 originally, and comes inside one of their ornate gold foil packets filled with sequins. I would rather the prices be lower and the sequins be skipped, especially as they’re unnecessary and a waste of plastic, but it’s definitely all about the luxe experience with the Pat McGrath brand.

The Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eyeshadow Palette contains five powder eyeshadows in smaller sizes, within a plastic perspex box. There’s no mirror, and no frills which is the complete opposite to the rest of the Pat McGrath Labs products but the price is significantly lower, so it’s to be expected, but I feel as if it’s the perfect starter product to try if you’re new to the brand.

A curated collection of five cult-classic shades unlock the secrets of McGrath’s backstage kit in hues and texture that apply in a single saturated swipe.

These hybrid cream-infused powder formulations release infinitely smooth and extremely blendable pigments for seamless color transitions with unprecedented buildability.

Fête your eyes with uninhibited colour that structures, designs and defines with incendiary flashes of pearl and dazzling effects.

Just look at these swatches. They are absolutely stunning, and I can’t believe they’re powders. They apply like rich creams, and spread amazingly well on the skin. I can totally understand why everyone goes crazy for the Pat McGrath eyeshadows, as these are some of the best quality shadows I’ve ever tried.

I can’t get over the duochrome shift in the Corruption shade, and I can’t believe I managed to pick up the duochrome shift in a photo, as duochromes are notoriously difficult to photograph. My two favourite shades in the palette have to be Corruption and Sinful, but I love, love, love them all and want so many more Pat McGrath eyeshadow palettes now.
