The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is just one of the many options on offer today when it comes to dealing with unwanted body hair. With everything from wax strips to razor blades and shaving cream, the amount of choice available to everyone in today’s society really is amazing. Finding a solution to managing body hair that works for you is really important to helping you feel your best.

Today we are taking a look at laser hair removal and what benefits it has to offer. To help us with this we have spoken to Tania Zahoor Rashid, who is one of the founders and directors at Aesthetics Lab. Based in Primrose Hill, London, Aesthetics Lab is a multi-award-winning cosmetic clinic and medispa that offers a wide range of treatments including laser hair removal.

The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

It’s important to understand how laser hair removal works. As you may have guessed by the name, it involves using laser light energy to remove the hair. It does this by converting the light into heat which is delivered to the hair follicles. This process damages the hair follicle and hair bulb, which prevents it from growing back.

To achieve the full effect and see the benefits of laser hair removal, you will need to go through multiple sessions. The reason for this is that in any area of your body where hair is growing, the hair will be at different stages of growth at any given time. Having multiple laser hair removal sessions allows all the hairs, at varying growth stages to be targeted and removed.

While the prospect of having multiple treatment sessions may sound daunting to some, Tania reassured us there is nothing to worry about. “After just 6-12 sessions, you don’t have to worry about shaving or waxing ever again! Old laser technologies were very slow and painful, not to mention treatment was very expensive and therefore not for everyone” Tania told us. “These days, laser hair removal is priced very reasonably, and you could have full body hair removal done in a couple of hours at a time. In six months, you’ll be hair-free for life.

Tania also made the point that when you compare the cost of laser hair removal to that of waxing, shaving or plucking hair, a set of treatments can actually work out saving you money as you’re removing the hair permanently.

The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

The speed of laser hair removal is one of the main benefits of the treatment, but there are others. As Tania mentioned, the treatment used to be very painful, but thanks to improvements in technology, any pain people now experience is significantly lower and very minimal in most cases. Furthermore, ingrown hairs can be an issue for lots of people, and laser hair removal offers an effective way to remove them anywhere on your face or body.

The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Despite the treatment being more associated with female beauty, Aesthetics Lab has seen an increase in the number of men coming in for treatments in the last few years. While there is no restriction on the gender of the person having laser hair removal, Tania did say they do not recommend the treatment for people under 18. This is because, with their hormones, it can make laser hair removal less effective. Also, Tania told us “women who are planning a pregnancy are encouraged to have laser hair removal done after they stop breastfeeding, as pregnancy hormones may stimulate hair growth and a second course of treatments may be necessary.”

Overall, laser hair removal is a fast and cost-effective way of removing unwanted body hair in a virtually pain-free way with some laser technologies. If you are considering laser hair removal, it’s really important to discuss it with an experienced professional to see if its right for you. Before any treatment program is put in place, you should also be able to have a patch test carried out and discuss an after-care plan with whoever is performing the treatment.

Hopefully, this has shed some light on laser hair removal and helped you understand some of the benefits if you’re looking into the treatment. Thanks again to Tania from Aesthetics Lab for her help and information and if you’re interested in laser hair removal London you can get in touch with them.
