Now the temperatures have dropped, my skin has become extremely dry, and I’ve been trying a couple of products from the Bioderma Atoderm Skincare Collection to try and give my skin a much-needed boost of hydration. I’ve been a big Bioderma fan for years, but I’ve only really tried their facial skincare products, so I wanted to give their Atoderm collection a give.
Bioderma Atoderm Skincare Collection
Bioderma has lots of different collections, each of which are designed for different skin concerns. The Bioderma Atoderm Skincare Collection is a full range of cleansing and skincare products for the face and body tailored to dry, very dry or atopic skin to be used daily as well as alongside treatments for eczema or itching.
The skin on my face is very dry and is all year round, but my arms and legs have become excessively dry in the last couple of months, which I’ve never experienced before. The Bioderma Atoderm Skincare Collection consists of ten different products, all of which are designed to moisturise and soothe, all in one, and the formulas are gentle enough that they’re all suitable for all ages, including babies.
The first product I wanted to try was the Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Nourishing Anti-Irritation Cleansing Oil 200ml, which is suitable for dry, very dry to irritated sensitive skin. It’s also suitable for the face and body, which you very rarely see. Usually it’s one or the other, with products working for the face or the body, but this shower oil is for both.
The bottle features a pump, and is a thin viscous oil which gently lathers on contact with water. It doesn’t emulsify as much as say the L’Occitane Shower Oil, but it’s designed to have a very mild formula, and emulsifying agents are what dries the skin out which negates the whole purpose of the Bioderma Atoderm Skincare Collection.
Next up is the Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Nourishing Cream, which is essentially a rich lotion for the face and body. It comes in multiple sizes, and a larger size with a pump dispenser. It is fragrance free and quite thick, and is perfect for applying after shaving my legs.
My skin’s been so dry and uncomfortable, that the idea of shaving has been so off-putting, but this lotion has made it a lot more comfortable. It is a rich lotion, so it’s not the kind of cream you can apply and get dressed immediately as it needs time to absorb, but if you suffer with super dry skin, this is the perfect body lotion to try.
