With all of us having to spend more time at home right now, it’s the perfect time to focus on home improvements and making our homes the best we can. Whilst we might not necessarily be able to jump on a plane for travel right now, we can still enjoy a good staycation, and what better way to easily transform a room or your home in general, than to invest in some high quality wall art.
Elevate Your Home With Wall Art
Wall art is great as it’s non-committal. It’s not like wallpaper where it’ll take your hours to apply it to the walls, and then hours of hassle to remove it should your tastes change. With wall art, you can change your pictures, canvas prints or posters in a matter of seconds. You can even change your wall art choices to complement the season, or your mood.
If you are going to invest in some quality wall art, I’d recommend opting for a colour scheme before making any purchases. Is your furniture neutral or colourful? Are you looking for wall art which will add colour to the room, or to have a cohesive effect with the rest of the room? Do you get bored easily of seeing the same images / art every day?
In terms of colour schemes, I personally prefer monochrome wall art as monochrome complements anything, and it doesn’t date. You don’t have to worry that it’ll look out of place this time next year, which is definitely something to consider.
In my own home, in the living room, I have four different monochrome prints on the walls, and they’re all monochrome. I like to often change up my cushions and soft furnishings, and the monochrome prints never look out of place as there’s never a risk of any clashing.
Something else you could consider is choosing a theme for your art which will have meaning. I think it adds a nice personal touch if you choose art which means something to you, rather than just looking good. For example, you could choose a scene from your favourite city or a place that has special memories for you.
By choosing something you or your family have a personal connection with, you’re going to be less likely to tire of seeing the same art pieces day after day. Wall art really can help to elevate your home, and it’s such a quick and easy way to change up your living space without needing any DIY or tools.
My favourite way to hang wall art is by using adhesive strips, as it doesn’t damage the walls, but it’s an effective way to hang your wall art pieces, and it also makes it easier to change your art pieces around. It really is amazing how impactful the right wall art pieces can be on your home, and it’ll make a great impact on those that enter your home.
I really hope you found these tips helpful on how to elevate your home with wall art.
