Many of us use makeup on a daily basis, which is normal, considering that we live in the age where flaws are fine, as long as they’re covered. However, with the advancement of technology, nowadays it’s possible to create different makeup looks that look natural. If you’re someone who loves wearing makeup, but not too much of it, then the “no makeup” look is the right thing for you. So, here are a few hacks that will help you achieve it and still look fresh and glamorous.
1. Take care of your skin, always
Gorgeous and healthy skin is the first step toward achieving a natural “no makeup” makeup look. If you struggle with pimples, blemishes, and other skin conditions, your first goal should be to get rid of them, or at least, minimize them. Building your skincare routine is a must, and it’s important to mention, that it might take you some time to do so. But, make sure to be consistent and disciplined, and you’ll see the results.
2. Use a primer
A well-chosen primer can do wonders for your final look. The goal of primer is to even out your skin by filling out pores which will allow for more even makeup distribution. If you apply a primer, your skin will look better whenever you wear makeup, that’s just a fact. Also, when choosing a primer, feel free to opt for one that is illuminating so your face will look more glowy.
3. Don’t forget your lips
When doing your makeup, you simply mustn’t forget your lips. Luckily, there are many nude tones that you can wear, and many clean makeup brands offer amazing lipsticks so finding the one for you should not be an easing task. If you dislike lipsticks, you can always opt for a tinted lip balm or just a regular lip balm.
For those who want to infuse their look with more glamour, using a lip gloss is also a great idea. However, when applying lipstick, make sure to do it sparingly, so put a brush only on the middle bottom of your lip and then rub your lips together. That way, your lip gloss will look more evenly distributed.
4. Don’t go overboard with coverage
Coverage is the main part of every makeup look, however, when opting for a “no makeup” look, you should go easy with foundations as they’re often heavy. Plus, if you’re not experienced with applying it, you risk your face looking cakey and unnatural. Therefore, instead of a foundation, it’s better to opt for tinted moisturizers such as BB or CC creams as they’re a lighter alternative to foundations. This is especially important if you struggle with oily or acne-prone skin. Also, if you’re using foundation, it’s best to apply it with a sponge or foundation brush, so your face will look dewier.
5. Opt for a clean mascara
Mascara is a staple part of every makeup routine, and there’s a good reason for that: eyelashes simply look longer and more voluminous with an extra coat of colour. But, if you’re aiming for a more natural look, then feel free to opt for a transparent mascara that will add more dimension to your lashes.
There are many brands that offer amazing transparent mascaras that will make your lashes pop. Also, if you dislike the natural state of your eyelashes, try using a lash serum that will promote eyelash growth.
Achieving the “no makeup” makeup look requires a bit of practice and patience, however, it’s definitely the best way to look stylish and fresh at the same time. This type of look will make you look amazing without trying too hard, so next time you’re about to wear makeup, feel free to experiment with these hacks.
