The temperatures have definitely dropped over the last few weeks, and I’ve been enjoying indulging in more self care and indulgent pampering. Life is tough for all of us right now, so it’s important we all make time for ourselves, and I have a collection of self care beauty treats for autumn which I’ve been enjoying over the last few weeks, and everything is available from Very.
Self Care Beauty Treats For Autumn
You don’t have to spend a fortune in order to enjoy self care rituals. It could be something as simple as a long hot bath with your favourite bath products and candles. I love to indulge in pamper sessions whenever I’m feeling under the weather or if I’ve had a stressful week.
Very have everything you could possibly need for a pamper session, from mood-enhancing oils from aromatherapy associates experts Aromatherapy Associates, and DIY facials with a Magnitone MicroSteam Sauna. Keep on reading to see my self care beauty treats for autumn picks….
I love Aromatherapy Associates, and their oils have some sort of magical healing powers. If you’ve never tried their oils before, the hype really is justified. They have a range of oils for use in the bath or shower, or for topical application too.
The Aromatherapy Associates Ultimate Bath & Shower Oil Collection is my dream gift, with ten bottles of their magical oil blends which are all designed to offer different benefits. You can use them both in the shower or the bath, and they come in this super chic chest, and it’s so much fun being able to choose which oil I want to use.
If you’re struggling with stress and anxiety, the Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Roller Ball is a godsend. It’s a rollerball glass bottle, which you can apply directly to your pulse points whenever you’re in need of a mood boost, and it smells lovely too.
I don’t know about you, but fragrance always lifts my mood. Especially if it’s a scent associated with great memories, and the Hugo Boss Deep Red Eau de Parfum is one of the first fragrances I ever tried back in my teens, and I always feel happy whenever I wear it. I love Hugo Boss fragrances in general to be honest, but Deep Red had to make my self care beauty treats for autumn picks, as it always makes me feel good when I smell good.
If you like a good hair mask or hair treatment, the new Philip Kingsley Elasti-Style 5 in 1 Treatment is a nice option to try. Their award-winning Elasticizer is a cult favourite, but this new product is said to be the new pre-styling step you need in your routine to prime, condition, strengthen, tame and add shine for beautifully silky, healthy hair. I always appreciate a multi-use product if it’s going to save me time in my beauty routine, and this 5-in-1 cream works wonders on conditioning my hair, whilst also taming frizz and flyaways too.
I’ve had the pleasure of trying a lot of Pixi skincare in the last two years, and their Vitamin C collection is very popular. If you read a lot of beauty blogs, it can be overwhelming trying to decide which products to try, so this fab little Pixi Best of Vitamin C Discovery Set is perfect.
It contains three deluxe miniature sizes of three products within the range, including the Vitamin C Lotion, Vitamin C Tonic and also the Vitamin C Caviar Balm. They might be smaller sizes, but they still contain enough product to give the products a try, and decide whether you want the full sized versions or not.
Depending on your skin type, I have two moisturiser recommendations within my self care beauty treats for autumn, and they’re both relatively new launches that have launched in the last few months or so. First we have the REN Overnight Glow Dark Spot Sleeping Cream which is a great night cream for the autumn/winter months, and the Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser is the perfect day cream.
The REN Cream is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of dark spots from 7 days, and I don’t know about you, but my skin always looks dull and lacklustre in autumn/winter, so I need all the help I can get. If you have sensitive skin, it also visibly increases skin radiance and hydration without potentially irritating acids.
Elemis’s newest moisturiser is all about the glow, and is formulated with an energising blend of Kombucha and Fermented Ginger to help brighten and illuminating micro-minerals to impart a subtle radiance. This multitasking formula can be used as a daily moisturiser, a hydrating makeup primer or to enhance skin’s natural luminosity.
I don’t think any self care beauty treats for autumn round-up would be complete without a luxurious, super nourishing hand cream, and the L’Occitane 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream is a cold month essential for my beauty routine. I love all of the L’Occitane hand creams throughout the year, but this specific formula contains 20% shea butter, which gives it a richer, more decadent formula that intensely nourishes the skin without ever feeling greasy. It does have a strong powdery scent which I’m not crazy about, but I can overlook the scent as it works wonders on my very dry hands (and feet too!).
The Emma Hardie Brilliance Face Oil is an award-winning facial oil, containing 5 base oils of Gold of pleasure, Sweet Almond, olive, sunflower and grapeseed, plus 9 sumptuous essential oils to re-balance and condition your skin: Palma Rosa, Rose, Geranium, Camomile, Vanilla, Orange, Lemon, Lavender, Mint. It’s a super nourishing oil, which works nicely as part of my evening skincare routine, and you can’t go wrong with Emma Hardie skincare products.
My final product pick in my self care beauty treats for autumn is the Magnitone Steam Ahead Hydrating Facial Micro-Steamer, which can give you a spa-like facial in the comfort of your own home. It’s designed to help unclog and open pores for deep cleansing and hydration, and supercharges creams and cleansers too. It takes just ten minutes, and will be a saviour for any colds you might catch over winter, to help steam the face and your sinuses too.
