I’m such a big fan of the Aromatherapy Associates oils, they truly work wonders on the mind and also the body, so when the brand launched a range of shower oils, I couldn’t wait to try at least one of them.
They already have a popular range of Bath & Shower Oils which are potent oils that you can add to your running bath water or you can apply a capful to your body prior to entering your shower for a therapeutic experience.
Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Shower Oil
“Transform your shower into a daily moment of reset for the body & mind.
Ease & recover with our comforting, therapeutic essential oil blend of Rosemary, Ginger & Black Pepper. Indulge in a daily moment of uninterrupted wellbeing as the luxurious oil-to-milk formula gently cleanses & envelops the skin in long-lasting moisture.“
Their new range of shower oils are a collection of luxurious oil-to-milk cleansing shower oil, which gives you the therapeutic benefits of one of their pure oils, whilst also cleansing the skin. Their main range oils are just oils, and you only need a tiny amount in your bath or shower.
With this new collection, there are four different Shower Oils to choose from, and I bought the Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Shower Oil as I struggle with a lot of muscle stiffness and pain. They also have a Rose, Mind and Revive version too, depending on the benefits you’re looking for.
Their pure oils are very expensive, and you get quite a small amount of oil for your money, but they really are extremely potent and your whole bathroom and landing is filled with fragrance after use.
The Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Shower Oil is £26, and contains 250ml of product in a clear plastic bottle. It is expensive for a shower product, but as I love their oils so much, I had to try the Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Shower Oil to see how it compares to their original oils.
The Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Shower Oil has a very running consistency, and you have to be careful when pouring it from the flip cap as it can end up rushing out. I try to only open the flip cap a small amount, and then pour it directly onto a shower puff. I don’t find that it turns into a milk though. When it begins to emulsify, it turns into soapy bubbles. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just I expected it to have a softening effect that an oil-to-milk formula would have.
I don’t find that the Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Shower Oil leaves my skin feeling soft, or nourished like it claims. Normally shower oils are super hydrating on the skin, and leave the skin silky and smooth. Instead, this shower oil is more of a therapeutic product.
It smells incredible, and it has a spicy, warming scent that soothes tired, aching muscles. Its intended benefit is to soothe muscles, which it does, but I do wish it was a little more moisturising and that it had lasting benefits. I wouldn’t repurchase at £26 though, and will stick with their purer aromatherapy oils instead.
