I can’t believe 2020 is almost finished. This year has sped alarmingly fast, and I was excited to see which products were inside the Birchbox December 2020 edit. It’s always an exciting month for beauty boxes, and brands tend to pull out all of the stops to make the boxes impressive, and in the case of the Birchbox December 2020 edit; the bag.
Birchbox December 2020
Birchbox is a monthly subscription box which costs £12.95 a month, and features a selection of beauty products and samples. This month’s ‘box’ has been upgraded to celebrate Christmas, and is a stunning deep green velvet quilted makeup bag.
The Birchbox beauty box December 2020 edit contains a set of rose gold eyelash curlers, and subscribers have the opportunity to choose the colour of their lash curlers. They’re rose gold curlers with either deep burgundy rubberised grips, or a blush pink, and I chose the deep burgundy ones which looks pretty contrasted against the rose gold.
Next up in the Birchbox December 2020 is a 25ml sachet of the Percy & Reed Totally TLC Hydrating Mask. It’s quite a small sample for a hair mask, so it would have been better if they’d given subscribers a less measly sample.
The next product is the LAPCOS Charcoal Exfoliating & Cleansing Pad, and it’s just one single pad. You can purchase the pads in packs of five for £10, meaning this single use pad is worth just £2. It’s an exfoliating and cleansing pad is packed with charcoal powder to draw dirt and toxins to the skin’s surface, and is single use which isn’t great for the environment.
Every Birchbox December 2020 box features a miniature Chella Hello Beautiful eyeshadow quad, with four tiny pans. There’s two matte shades and two shimmer shades, and it is a very small quad. This tiny quad is supposedly worth $20.
The next product is another very small miniature and it’s the Benefit Posie Tint Poppy Pink Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain. Benefit samples in Birchbox used to be quite generous with 5ml – 8ml of product, and they also have a POREfessional sample in some bags which is just 3ml, so it’s a real shame they are so small.
The last product in the Birchbox December 2020 box is the Eyeko That’s Where I Draw The Line Liquid Eyeliner Pen which is a miniature sized, black, liquid eyeliner pen with a firm nib. Birchbox love Eyeko, and this liner pen has a waterproof formula which can even be applied to the waterline.
Overall, I don’t think this is an amazing box this month, but it’s still better than the December version of Glossybox which I unboxed right here. I really thought Glossybox and Birchbox would be impressive this month, considering it’s Christmas box season, but maybe January will be better…
