Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

The Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant is a product I’ve seen so many rave about, and I’ve always wondered whether it’d be any good. I love a good exfoliating toner, but I’d never tried anything from Paula’s Choice before, so I decided to purchase the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant in the 30ml trial size, to see if I liked it before buying the full size.

  • 3ml sample size 70p

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

Reveal flawless skin with our bestselling leave-on exfoliant. This gentle, lightweight fluid quickly exfoliates dead skin cells both on the surface and deep inside pores to reveal smoother, clearer, more radiant-looking skin. BHA (salicylic acid) has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to reduce blackheads, blemishes and redness.

The Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant is described as being a fast absorbing liquid removes built-up dead skin cells and fights blackheads. I liked that I could purchase the smaller size, as I didn’t want to waste £20+ on a product if I didn’t enjoy it.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

I have sensitive skin, but I use some form of acid toner every day either in a pad format, or just a liquid toner on a cotton pad like the Pyunkang Yul 1/3 Cotton Pads. I found this Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant to be very harsh on my skin, and it really stings. I’ve used toners with a higher concentration of acids and not had an issue, but every time I use this toner, it stings so bad and leaves my skin feeling really dry and tight.

I don’t know why this particular toner doesn’t work for my skin, but I’ve tried it at least ten times now, and it’s just unpleasant to use unfortunately. I know I’m in a very tiny minority that didn’t like this toner, but it’s such a shame as I’ve only ever heard amazing things. If I had bought the £28 full size, I would have been gutted, so I’ve resorted to using the remaining toner on my arms and legs to use it up, and I definitely wouldn’t repurchase.
