Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation Review / Swatches
In the last eight years I’ve been blogging, I’ve posted over 40 Maybelline reviews, and I’m always excited whenever they launch a new foundation or concealer. The Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation launched this month, and I featured the launch over on my second blog as soon as it hit UK retailers, and I instantly ordered my shade, and couldn’t wait to try it.
Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation
The Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation is described as being a full coverage, long lasting foundation which offers a lightweight feel on the skin. It’s not a brand new foundation as such, as it’s a new and improved reformulation of the iconic Maybelline Super Stay Foundation, and I reviewed the original formula here on my blog right here.
Not only has the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation has a formula makeover, but the packaging design has also had a revamp for 2021, and this formula is exciting because it’s supposedly suitable for wear during any exercise thanks to the 30hr long wear time, which is very rare for a foundation. Especially a foundation found at the drugstore!
The original formula of the Super Stay foundation offered you up to 24 hours of wear time, however the new Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation now offers 30 hours of wear which is a super long wear time for any foundation, and it’s only £10.99.
I’ve been trying my bottle of the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation for several weeks now, but I was kindly gifted three other shades from the range to show you, so I can share swatches of four of the shades on offer.
The lightest shade available is Alabaster 01, and it looked impressively pale from the stock images I’d seen, but there weren’t any swatches online, so I wasn’t sure which shade would work for me. I needn’t have worried though, the Alabaster shade of the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation is a perfect match.
So the four shades I have to show you are; Alabaster 01, Nude Beige 21, Soft Beige 28 and Caramel 60. Hopefully these swatches will be helpful to see multiple shades rather than just the one that I bought. This foundation carries some pretty impressive claims;
“Tested in real life situations, including sweaty gym sessions and while wearing a face covering for half an hour, 85% of participants said they would switch from their current foundation to this, whilst 89% didn’t think it was possible for such full coverage to be this lightweight, and 90% said it survived a full day of work with dinner and drinks afterwards.“
Here are all four swatches of the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear 30H Foundation (Alabaster, Nude Beige, Soft Beige and Caramel), so you can see how they compare to each other. The original Super Stay Foundation has great coverage, but this new formulation has even better coverage.
This is the lightest shade (Alabaster) fully blended into the skin, and you can’t see where the foundation starts and stops. It looks seamless on the skin, which really surprised me for a formula that offers such great coverage. It really is transfer proof, and once it’s fully set on the skin, it doesn’t transfer into my face mask which alone is a massive positive.
It lasts amazingly well throughout the day without breaking up, and as long as I use a super hydrating primer like the Huda Beauty Water Jelly Primer, it looks flattering on my dry skin. The shade Alabaster leans quite warm toned in the bottle, but it works really well for my skintone, and I’m so happy Maybelline have created a true super pale foundation shade, and I hope other drugstore brands will follow suit.
