I first tried Cosrx back in February of last year, and I was so impressed, I’ve gone on to buy multiple products from the brand. I ordered the Cosrx Hydrogel Very Simple Pack Gel Face Mask Patches as part of the Lookfantastic Black Friday sale, and I have to be honest, I didn’t even read reviews beforehand, which is most unlike me.

I love the Cosrx One Step Original Clear Pads, which are essentially toner soaked round pads which you use to slough away dead skin cells, and they’re my favourite acid based pad I’ve tried.
I’ve tried five products from the brand thus far, and I’ve enjoyed them all, so I figured I’d feel the same about the Cosrx Hydrogel Very Simple Pack Gel Face Mask Patches too. Full price they’re £26, but I only paid £11 in the Black Friday sale which was amazing.
“The COSRX Hydrogel Very Simple Pack is a daily gel mask made of hydrogel to help cool down heated and inflamed skin. Drenched in a moisture boosting essence containing centella asiatica extract to soothe, ceramide NP to strengthen and hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate, these patches are a quick, innovative and convenient way of masking anywhere. Perfect to help prep and de-puff skin before makeup application, or for calming on the go.”
The Cosrx Hydrogel Very Simple Pack Gel Face Mask Patches is a large, circular teal plastic pot with a screw lid. Inside the box, you also get a mini pair of plastic tongs, which you use to scoop the ‘patches’ out of the jar, and it fits on the top of the pads inside the jar once you’ve peeled away the protective foil, and the tongs are really helpful. It helps to keep bacteria from entering the jar, and as they’re very slippery, the tongs help to peel the pads away from each other.
The directions are very simple. You just scoop one of the hydrogel patches from the jar, and then place it onto the skin, wherever you’re in need of a hydration boost. They’re about the size of an acid exfoliating toner pad, and it did feel weird applying it to the face, as you’re only treating a relatively small area, compared to say a hydrogel face mask.
When you scoop the Cosrx Hydrogel Very Simple Pack Gel Face Mask Patches from the jar, they’re very jelly-like and wobbly, and I thought the patches would just slide right off the skin. However, they do remain attached to the skin for the 10-30 minutes the brand recommends using them for.
You can’t apply them anywhere small like your nose, or between your eyebrows as it’s just too big. I have tried snipping them into multiple pieces, but it doesn’t really work as well as it does when they’re one solid disc. I’ve been using them on my cheeks, and they have an instant effect on the skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and very smooth.
You get 60 gel pads in the jar, which is 60 treatments, but as you can only treat a relatively small area of the skin, you might need to use more than one. I don’t think I’d repurchase the Cosrx Hydrogel Very Simple Pack Gel Face Mask Patches at full price, as I’d rather use a hydrogel mask to treat the whole face, but they’ll be amazing in the summer, when kept in the fridge, to have a super soothing, cooling and hydrating effect on the skin.
