Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil Review / Swatches

It’s been an exciting year for Huda Kattan and her beauty brands. Huda Beauty has seen some really amazing launches, the launch of Wishful (Huda Beauty’s skincare sister brand) and the Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil has launched as the brand’s first foray into eyebrow products.

I love the Huda Beauty eyeshadow palettes, foundations, primer, setting powder, lip glosses, lip liners, lip balm and concealer, so I had a pretty good feeling about the new Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil, and couldn’t wait to give it a try.

One of the reasons I like Huda Beauty so much as a brand, is that Huda Kattan never plays it safe. She always likes to find innovative formulas, innovative finishes and creating unique products. Such as the Naughty Nude Palette, which has an eye gloss with encapsulated pearls.

So the Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil was always going to offer something new and exciting, and for the brow pencil, the new and innovative feature is the ultra precise 0.9mm tip which is something we’ve never seen with a brow pencil before.

An ultra-fine 0.9mm tip, retractable brow pencil that precisely defines, shapes and fills your brows using tiny hair-like strokes that give a microblade-worthy effects to create brows that look on point, literally.

This pigmented, super smooth brow pencil is infused with a creamy blend of vitamin E, castor oil and coconut oil to create soft, hair-like strokes for effortless building and blending. With a durable spoolie at one end, it diffuses pigments perfectly so you can build and customize your look.

The Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil is £15 and is available in eight different shades, which is quite generous for a brow pencil shade range, especially considering this is Huda Beauty’s first ever brow product launch.

It’s a dual-ended brow pencil, with gunmetal metallic packaging. Usually micro brow pencils feel very light in the hand, as they’re a daintier product, but the #BombBrows has a nice weight to it, and it definitely feels more luxurious than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (and it’s cheaper than the Brow Wiz too).

On one side of the Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil there’s the ultra fine brow pencil, which is retractable, and the other side houses a small, stiff spoolie.

I have three of the eight shades on offer;

  • 4 Light Brown – for light brown hair with warm undertones
  • 5 Medium Brown – for neutral brown hair with mix of cool and warm undertones
  • 6 Rich Brown – for dark brown hair with warm undertones

I have naturally dark brown, almost black hair and brows, and I can make all three of these shades work for me, and there’s two deeper shades than #6 should you have black brows. You can get a subtle effect with a lighter pressure, or apply more pressure for a darker, and more intense colour.

I tried to show how fine the nib on the Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil is with my swatches, but it’s the finest nib I’ve ever seen on a brow pencil. I was worried the tiny, tiny nib would just crumble from being too fine, but I haven’t had any crumbling or breaking whatsoever.

The formula has the perfect softness in that it blends into the skin and brows to look super natural, but it lasts all day with zero smudging or fading. If you have sparse brows, this brow pencil would be absolutely perfect as you can create the illusion of individual brow hairs, and basically transform your brows into looking a lot fuller, and it’s so quick and easy to use.

It essentially gives you the precision of a brow felt tip pen, without the bleeding, or turning green which brow felt tip pens have the tendency to do. It’s an amazing brow pencil, and the formula is SO much better than the Brow Wiz too.

It doesn’t crumble like the Brow Wiz, and it doesn’t break off in the barrel of the pencil either, which always happens for me with the Brow Wiz. If you like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, you have to try the Huda Beauty #BombBrows Microshade Brow Pencil. You will not be disappointed…
