The L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water is a product you’ll have seen everywhere on social media lately. It went viral on TikTok and has been selling out at all L’Oreal Elvive stockists, so it’s been a nightmare to track down. I’ve raved about the L’Oreal Elvive haircare range numerous times on my blog (like here), and I pretty much buy anything they launch, so when the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water launched, I ordered it straight away.
L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water
Lots of people have been raving about the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water being ‘finally’ in the UK, because of the popular L’Oreal Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water which is available in the US. They’re different products, with different ingredients. We do not have the version the US has, this version is a UK exclusive, and they’re different products, which I think is causing a little confusion.
Both products utilise the same ‘lamellar’ technology, and have identical bottle designs, and almost the same name, but the US and Europe have very different rules for ingredients on products. I imagine the effect will be almost identical, but the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water has launched as part of the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths collection, which is designed for those with longer hair.
“Discover Wonder Water by L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths, a game-changing new hair treatment that visibly transforms lengths in just 8 seconds. Hair is 10x smoother*, with glassy shine and a silky touch. Wonder Water is a breakthrough damaged hair treatment, in a rinse-out liquid conditioner formula that’s powered by Lamellar Water Technology.
Moisturising agents and amino acids target dry, damaged areas of hair, forming thin layers called Lamella to smooth hair’s surface instantly transforming lengths for silkier, shinier and healthier-looking hair. Wonder Water is effective on multiple hair types from fine to curly and this damaged hair treatment is also ideal for dry or frizzy long hair. Wonder Water’s silicone free, water-based formula has a weightless-feel even on hair that’s ultra-fine. It doesn’t just work, it works wonders!“
Directions
- L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water is a rinse-out hair treatment.
- Use 2-3 times per week after shampooing.
- Use 1 dose for fine to medium textured hair, 2-3 doses for thick to curly textured hair, add 1 more dose if you have extra-long hair.
- Apply directly to wet hair on the lengths only, avoiding the scalp. You may feel a slight warming sensation as the product activates.
- Massage for 8 seconds and rinse out. Use a conditioner after if needed.
- Blow-dry for even greater results!
The L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water is £9.99, and is a very runny, viscous liquid and the bottle has a nozzle which you twist, and then direct next to your scalp and gently squeeze the bottle for the ‘water’ to dispense into the hair. I personally prefer to squeeze the water into my cupped palm, as I found that I wasted too much with the nozzle as it’s harder to control.
L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water really does feel like a water, and you have to be careful how much you apply. On the bottle, there’s a handy numbered guide to show you how much product you should use, as they recommend a 20ml dose per application.
It’s such a simple inclusion to have on the bottle, but it really helps as the watery consistency feels like you’re using a lot more product than you perhaps are. I have waist length hair, so I’ve needed to use 30ml per application, or 40ml if I want a more intensive treatment. It’s a strange product to get used to, as the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water is so runny and unlike any other hair mask or conditioner I’ve tried.
It really does make your hair feel extremely soft, which I assumed would be down to silicones, but the formula is silicone-free. Although it does contain multiple forms of alcohol, so it’s not a product I’d use frequently as my hair is prone to dryness.
If you struggle with tangly, knotty hair, I think you’ll really like the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water. It’s said to be a fantastic dupe for the Kerastase or Redken Lamellar Waters, so if you fancy trying the technology out, this budget friendly option would be a great choice!
