One of the best parts of being a beauty blogger, is being introduced to beauty brands you’ve never heard of, and AXIS-Y is a brand I was introduced to back in the beginning of March, and I couldn’t wait to try some of their skincare products.
AXIS-Y skincare is produced with only skin-loving ingredients, with certified vegan and EWG graded skincare which is cruelty free, paraben free, mineral oil free, no artificial fragrances and no artificial colours either.
AXIS-Y pride themselves on creating natural climate based skincare products, with their formulas being influenced by growing pollution, stressors and climate change. In addition, with the rise of travelling, more people have realised the unique skin concerns arising by their climate and the need for more personalised skincare.
All of the AXIS-Y skincare is part of the 6+1+1 Advanced Formula collection, which is said to be the most sincere care for oily, acne prone skin in humid climates. The whole concept behind the 6+1+1 collection involves the following;
- 6 Nutrient Rich Natural Ingredients: we carefully select plant extracts that are healthy and deliver benefits for skin in hot, humid weather.
- 1 Functional Goal-Orientated Agent: we use one functional ingredient to solve the targeted skin problem safely and effectively.
- 1 Quality Producing Technology: we incorporate expertise in manufacturing to quality delivery ingredients and results.
The AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule is $25 and contains 30ml of product within a teal coloured glass bottle, with a glass pipette dispenser for hygienic, and controlled product delivery.
“An artichoke ampoule that delivers rich antioxidants, nutrients, and hydration to heal damaged, irritated skin barriers. Phytonutrients defend against bacteria and pollutants to prevent future breakouts and irritation.“
The AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule is designed to be used as a step within your skincare routine, and is aids in the recovery of damaged skin barriers due to environmental aggressors. It claims to increase and sustain hydration of the skin, reduced the size of enlarged pores and wrinkles, as well as balancing the skin’s oil production too.
Its formula features six natural ingredients; tea tree to soothe painful irritations thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, centella asiatica which boasts skin’s natural healing processes to prevent acne scars, burdock root to remove harmful skin cells, aloe vera to soothe the skin and acting as an anti-inflammtory, licorice which calms inflammation on sensitive skin caused by pollutants and rosacea, and finally okra which deeply hydrates to support the development of healthy skin cells.
The directions for using the AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule are very simple, so it’s very easy to include it within your existing skincare routine.
You just use it after your toner (or the AXIS-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner like myself), and gently pat across the face until completely absorbed. You can then follow up with your moisturiser and SPF. AXIS-Y also give a great tip of using a drop of the liquid mixed in your foundation for additional hydration.
The AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule has a viscous serum like consistency, and it feels incredibly lightweight and hydrating.
It almost feels like an essence, in that it’s watery yet potent enough to impart instant hydration, and as it dries, it has a slightly tacky feeling on the skin which actually works amazingly for applying under my makeup.
If you apply the AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule to bare skin without applying makeup, the tackiness disappears within a minute or so, but I feel like the initial tackiness helps my makeup grip to my skin even better.
I really love how hydrating the AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule is for my super dry and dehydrated skin. However, there’s been a benefit I never anticipated, but one I am absolutely thrilled about. I have some tiny broken capillaries on either side of my nose, and I feel very self conscious about them.
Skincare products never make a difference to them, or they haven’t until I started using the AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule (and the AXIS-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner).
Don’t get me wrong, they haven’t (and won’t) disappeared, but they have faded considerably, and I can only imagine that by using the AXIS-Y duo together, I’ll see more fading going forward.
In addition to my broken capillaries looking a lot less red and noticeable, I’ve also noticed that the AXIS-Y Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule has plumped my dehydration lines on the tops of my cheeks, and reduced my acne scarring.
I’m genuinely so impressed with this treatment, and it’s such a pleasure to use, and I have a review of the AXIS-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner too, coming very soon.
