I was kindly gifted one month’s worth of the Parfumado Fragrance Subscription Service back in 2019, and I wrote about the service and the concept, and a fragrance which was chosen for me.
I thought it was a great concept, and I decided to give it a try for a few months to see what it was like as a consumer, rather than being on a PR list, as you don’t get the same customer service and experience as paying customers, regardless of the subscription service.
Parfumado Fragrance Subscription Service
In a nutshell, the Parfumado Fragrance Subscription Service allows you to receive a fragrance sample once a month for £12.95, and you can choose which fragrance you receive from over 400 fragrances in their perfume library.
On your first shipment, you get a silver travel case and your fragrance sample vial, but future months will only give you a new vial, and you have to swap your vials in your travel case. The vial you receive contains 8ml of fragrance, which is said to be enough for three sprays every day for 30 days.
You have to choose which fragrances you want to receive each month, and you can do so via a calendar. So you can choose ahead which fragrances you want to receive for the next month for twelve months maximum. You can easily swap them around, or skip a month too should you wish to without cancelling completely.
I have had the Parfumado Fragrance Subscription Service for three months, and I decided to cancel after receiving my third fragrance as I had issues with my fragrance arriving for my second and third month.
The customer service was great both times I reached out, but it’s just been annoying to have to chase an order you’ve paid for. I chose Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Eau de Parfum as my third fragrance, and it was nice to try something I’d never tried before.
When you order via the Parfumado Fragrance Subscription Service, the orders are coming from the Netherlands which might explain why I had issues with UK shipping, but I know mail services have struggled thanks to the global crisis. I’m glad I was able to try Parfumado as a paying customer, and whilst I had issues for two of my three orders, I would potentially use them again in the future if I wanted to try some more fragrances.
