The TIGI Bed Head Masterpiece Hairspray is my holy grail hairspray, and is a product I’ve repurchased endless times since I first fell in love with it fifteen years ago. Whilst I love the TIGI Masterpiece Hairspray, I always wonder whether I’m missing out on something potentially better, by just sticking to my favourite, so I decided to give the TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray a try, to see how it compares to my old favourite.
TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray
“Our bestselling high hold hairspray gives you relentless hold and control and dries instantly. The more you use the harder it gets! Great for any hair length and texture.
Hard core fixatives provide massive hold for long lasting styles. Plasticizers help to fix in super strong hold so your style stays put. Gives rock hard hold that doesn’t budge.“
The TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray is £13 for the 385ml size can, and I have the 100ml size which I got in one of the Feelunique Beauty Kits, where you can choose five generous beauty samples for just £12.95. This size is perfect for your handbag, or just to try the product before purchasing the full size.
I love the TIGI Masterpiece Hairspray because it smells incredible, offers great hold, leaves my hair looking glossy and brushes out very easily, so these are the benchmarks I have when trying other hairsprays. I have so many TIGI haircare products within my collection, as they’re one of my favourite haircare brands.
I love how amazing their products all smell, so I was really disappointed by the scent of the TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray. It smells like alcohol in a can, which technically is exactly what hairspray is, but I hate using nice smelling haircare products, to then have the scents covered up by a chemical stench, and I hate how the TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray smells. Although it’s no way near as bad as the musty Tresemme hairspray.
In terms of hold, the TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray does offer a great level of hold, and is on par with the Masterpiece Hairspray. It keeps my style in place all day, and prevents frizziness.
However, the TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Extra Strong Hold Hairspray leaves my hair feeling very crunchy, and dull. It mattifies any healthy, glossy shine you may have, which just leaves my hair looking dirty.
It’s funny how two products can differ so much, as the Masterpiece Hairspray does the complete opposite, and whilst I’m glad I tried the Hard Head Hairspray, I don’t enjoy the product enough to finish the can, and would much rather stick with my old favourite.
