The Revlon So Fierce Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner collection launched back in December, and the description and promotional images made them look amazing, so I knew it was something I wanted to try. The Chrome eyeliners launched as part of the Revlon So Fierce collection, which includes some eyeshadow palettes too.
“Level up your liquid liner game with this Revlon molten metal So Fierce! Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner pen that delivers instant color payoff in just one stroke. The flexible tip and easy-glide formula make drawing on crisp lines easy.
Unlike other liquid liner pens, this one won’t dry out before its time-the specially-designed Dip-Ink Cap keeps the tip saturated with intense pigment and pearl, to keep color fresh.
Budge-proof, smudge-proof, and with no fall-out. A liquid metallic eyeliner pen (not pencil!) with instant color payoff in just one stroke.”
The Revlon So Fierce Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner is £8.99, and is available in three different shades; Bronzage, Gunmetal and Ultraviolet Foil. I chose the Bronzage shade, as it looked the prettiest in the promotional images, and I’m all about neutral shades.
This liquid eyeliner is said to feature multidimensional pearls and shimmer, to create a reflective look, with a specially-designed Dip-Ink Cap which claims to keep the tip saturated with intense pigment and pearl, to keep colour fresh.
The Revlon So Fierce Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner has a flexible, felt tip nib which claims to have an easy glide formula which makes drawing on clean lines, getting a winged look, or creating classic cat eyes easier than it looks.
Revlon describe the eyeliner as having high intensity pigments which adhere to the lid for all day wear, and a smudge-proof and budget-proof formula.
You have to pull the cap of the Revlon So Fierce Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner off, rather than twisting it off, and the product is in the lid of the eyeliner pen.
Due to the brand’s claims and descriptions, I was expecting the Revlon So Fierce Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner to be pigmented, foil-like and intense, but it’s none of those things, as shown in the swatches above.
I’ve tried shaking the pen many times, pushed the nib into the lid a hundred times to try and pick up more pigment on the nib, but it’s a very sheer, streaky and almost watery finish. It’s not at all opaque, and it doesn’t look like eyeliner on the lids. It just looks like a bit of sheer eyeshadow, and I’m so disappointed.
I really wanted to love the formula, and for it to be as pigmented as the claims, but it’s a poor quality eyeliner, and I’d be better off using a powder eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush, than to try and mess around with this ‘liquid’ liner pen, unfortunately.
