People often have low energy on Monday mornings because they are not used to being awake so early. The body reacts to the sudden change by secreting adrenaline, which causes a physiological reaction that may make you feel nauseous, shaky, and jittery.
This is compounded by the fact that many jobs require people to wake up early on Mondays to get ready for the workday. This can lead to feelings of depression or anxiety, as well as lethargy and lack of motivation. Mondays happen, and there’s nothing we can do to stop them, but here are 3 ways to get over the Monday morning blues this week…
What Causes The Monday Blues?
There are many factors that can cause the Monday Blues but one of them is the sudden change in mood from happy to sad. The sudden change in mood from happy to sad is what causes the Monday Blues.
This happens because we are so used to living a happy life on weekends and then when we have to switch back to reality, it feels like a shock and this can cause us to be upset or stressed. Monday Blues is also caused by all the work that needs to be done over the weekend which may end up being more than expected, and then we feel overwhelmed with all these things we need to do at work.
Tips for Coping with the Monday Blues
The Monday Blues can negatively affect the way you feel about your job. However, with these three tips, you can fight back and have a productive Monday.
The first thing to do is make sure that you are giving yourself enough time to recover from the weekend. You should try to get at least eight hours of sleep each night and take some time off on Sunday so that you don’t come in feeling exhausted on Monday morning.
Secondly, it’s important to get engaged in your work as soon as possible. Try to check your email as soon as you start work so that you have something new to work on right away without having idle time throughout the day.
Another option is to set goals for how much work you want to get done by lunchtime so that there is something else waiting for you after you’ve achieved your lunchtime goals, so you’re making the most of your Monday, and it’ll make time pass quickly, and you can look forward to the rest of the week.
