The Revolution Balayage Duo Brow Pencil launched at the start of the year, and I decided I had to give it a try, as my favourite way of doing my brows is with a pencil first to get the definition and shape, and then follow with a tinted brow gel to add texture and hold.
Revolution Balayage Duo Brow Pencil
Revolution has launched a lot of brow pencils over the years, but this one looked a little different to the others, as it features two different shades of brow pencil in one, to give you a two tone balayage effect to the brows. I’ve never seen a brow pencil with two shades of pencil, and two shapes of pencil in the one pencil, so it was nice to try something different.
“Sculpt a natural or full multi-dimensional brow with this dual toned, dual ended brow pencil & brush. Use the lighter shade on the thicker part of your brow, then use the darker shade on the tail of your brow to create depth. Perfectly diffuse and fluff with the dense brush to complete.“
The Revolution Balayage Duo Brow Pencil is made with rose gold, chrome casing, and features two different eyebrow pencil shapes, as well as a stiff, dense brush on the lid on one of the ends.
On one side of the pencil there’s a fine, micro-point brow pencil, and the other end is a teardrop shape. The teardrop side is larger, and is designed to help you create the perfect shape, and then the micro-pencil can create hair-like strokes throughout the brows.
The Revolution Balayage Duo Brow Pencil is only available in three shades, and I chose Dark Brown, as it looked like a good match for my naturally super dark brows. The teardrop side of the pencil is a cool toned dark brown, and the micro-pencil is a slightly lighter, warmer toned brown.
Both sides of the pencil are very firm, so you don’t have to use a little pressure to get your desired effect, but that can be seen as a positive, as it’s not super soft that it just crumbles on contact with the brows. I like that you can use both shades to get your perfect brow look, and use the brush to blend the pencil out for a natural look, but there definitely needs to be more than just three shades.
